Tripura Cong leader Asish Saha refutes CM Saha’s ‘hurdle’ remark

Responding to the allegations made against the (Congress-Left) that it might create obstacles during the elections in Tripura, Ashish K Saha, senior Congress leader and the main rival of Chief Minister and BJP leader Dr Manik Saha from the Town Bordowali Constituency said that people are aware of the kind of violence BJP does and how they have won all previous elections in an undemocratic manner.

It may be mentioned that CM Manik Saha after casting his vote today said that the rivals (Congress-Left) that have come together in an unholy will try to obstruct the elections in the state and level accusations against the BJP, but BJP workers should not fall for that trap.

Ashish K Saha stated that during the five years, the BJP has been in power, it has never happened for opponents to dominate anywhere or to rig elections. Therefore, everything BJP is saying this time is driven by fear.

The Congress leader added that people are turning out in large numbers to cast ballots in the hopes of seeing peace and progress in the state under the new government.

The polling for the Tripura Assembly elections is underway at 3,337 polling stations amid tight security. The voting has begun at 7 am and will continue till 4 pm.

According to Election Commission, over 28.14 lakh electorates of which 14,15,233 are male voters, 13,99,289 are woman voters and 62 are of the third gender, are eligible to cast their franchise.
