Two constables of the Government Railway Police Force have been arrested for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman from Mizoram at Silchar town in Assam’s Cachar district.
The victim filed an FIR at a local police station following which the cops swung into action.
The accused GRPF constables have been identified as Sharifuddin Mazumdar and Uttam Das.
Talking to Northeast Live, Additional SP Jagadish Das said that the victim was at the railway station on Wednesday night with one of her friends when the incident took place.
