Amid the ongoing ethnic unrest in Manipur, girl students from various communities including Meiteis and Kukis, are being provided shelter and education by the Assam Rifles at the Centre of Educational Excellence in Ukhrul district. The Centre opened in collaboration with a NGO to provide education opportunities to students. 37 girl students from Kuki, Meitei and Naga communities study under one roof and attend coaching classes for NEET and other competitive exams at the centre.
