The SKM said that the incident took place at Neya Brum village under Rangang Yangang constituency late last night.

In an incident that is being seen as post-poll violence, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party member KD Kafle was attacked and his car was vandalised late last night.

SKM is accusing the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) for the attack. They are saying that the group of people who attacked Kafle are SDF supporters.

The SKM said that the incident took place at Neya Brum village under Rangang Yangang constituency.

The SKM stated that eyewitnesses identified the SDF youths involved in the incident and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.

An FIR has been lodged at the Yangang Police Station and an investigation into the matter is underway.

Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Sikkim were held on April 19. The state saw a lot of pre-poll violence with both the leading political parties of the state, SKM and SDF accusing each other of instigating violence in the state.
