BJP president Amit Shah launched a direct attack on former Manipur chief minister and state Congress president Okram Ibobi Singh accusing him of selling the land and resources of Manipur.

Shah made the attack during his mega rally at Wangjing in Thoubal district of Manipur on Friday.

The BJP has pulled Manipur from the era of bandhs under Congress rule and taken it to the path of becoming a model state, said Shah.

Shah lashed out at the opposition calling it a leaderless gathbandhan trying to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP President also highlighted the NDA government’s development push in the region stating that it was under PM Modi that the NEC plenary meet was held in the region after 40 years.

Highlighting the achievements of the NDA government, he said five helipads have been constructed under Udan scheme and highway spanning 300 km has been built in the state over the past five years.

Hailing boxing champion Mary Kom, Shah said the state is a land of athletes and players who brought laurels for the nation.

Shah added, the BJP-led government is building India’s first national sports university in Manipur.

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah addressed a public rally at Arunachal’s Bordumsa, where he highlighted the NDA government’s focus on development of the region.

Shah missed no opportunity to drive home the point that connectivity in the remote state of Arunachal got a big boost since the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power.

From rail connectivity to improvement of roads, Shah said the BJP government has been striving hard to improve things.

Shah also announced the AIIMS project for Arunachal apart from other developmental projects.

He added that the party is committed to act against cross-border terrorism and to root out insurgency in northeast.

“Five years ago, northeast was in turmoil, there was hardly any development. BJP has brought peace to the region and paved way for its development,” Amit Shah said.
