The rebels of the Bru Revolutionary Army of Union (BRAU) and United Democratic Liberation Front of Barak Valley (UDLF-BV) laid down the arms and ammunition in presence of Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika and ADGP Hiren Nath.

Satra Lands Commission submits interim report on encroachments to CM
The Commission of Satra Lands submitted its interim report on encroachments of Satra lands in Assam to Chief Minister Himata Biswa Sarma. The report noted that around 1889 hectares (about 7504 bighas) of satra land had been encroached upon. As per the report, the maximum number of encroachments took place in Barpeta.
