NSCN (K-Yung Aung) insurgent identified as Ganshai Pansa, surrendered before the district administration and the police at Longding in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
According to the surrendered insurgent, he joined the outfit in 1992.
The 52-year-old originally hails from Votnu village in Pongchao circle. The reason for the surrender according to him was to shun away from the path of violence and return to the mainstream to lead a normal life.
In a ceremony organised at the DC’s office in Longding, a formal surrender certificate was handed over to Pansa. Longding DC Bani Lego who was present during the surrender ceremony cautioned the ex-NSCN (K-YA) resident against returning to the path of violence again.
