Riding high on the heels of the reported breakthrough in peace talks, the NSCN-IM issued a press release whereby chief negotiator Thuingaleng Muivah and the other negotiators thanked all sections of the society for backing them during the crucial phase of talks.
The outfit appealed to the Naga society to continue with their support so that the actual peace accord is signed without much delay.
The NSCN-IM gave special thanks to the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum and the Nagaland Baptist Church Council for their role in steering the overall public opinion in the issue.
Meanwhile, members of the Naga People’s Front led by party leader TR Zeliang met up with the NSCN-IM delegates to congratulate their breakthrough with the Government of India in the peace talks.
Zeliang and the other NPF leaders met with the delegation members which included Thuingaleng Miuvah and requested them to keep up the momentum and ensure that the final accord is signed at the earliest.
