According to latest report of NSDMA, 11 Districts namely Phek, Wokha, Mon, Kohima, Dimapur, Longleng, Tuensa, Mokokchung, Kiphire, Zunheboto and Peren districts have been affected.
Altogether 532 villages have been affected in 11 districts. 48821 families comprising a population of two lakh sixty one thousand one hundred and fifteen people that constitutes 13.19% of the total population has been affected.
According to the report 11 persons have lost their lives in the natural calamity and 5 injured. As many as 3048 houses have been fully damaged, 1679 severely damaged and 475 partially damaged.
90 people from Kohima, 35 from Tuensang, 3 from Mokokchung and 225 from Wokha has been evacuated in the last 2 months.
The NDRF team has also been stationed in Dimapur for the last 1 month. The situation in Dimapur which had faced severe flood is now under control and the water level has also receded.
Meanwhile, NSDMA authorities disclosed that it will take nearly a month to restore all the major roads which have been totally cut off. The State government along with its state machineries is trying their best to deal with the situation.
