Security forces are carrying out massive anti-insurgency operations in the hill districts of Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao in Assam.

Apart from this, operations are also being carried out in the dense forests along the Assam-Nagaland interstate boundary.

The move comes after vehicles of a construction company was attacked and labourers assaulted at Mailoo Road on February 26.

Briefing newspersons, Dima Hasao SP Bir Bikram Gogoi said that according to inputs a joint group of DNLA and NSCN was behind the attack.

Intelligence reports suggest that the DNLA is jointly carrying out terror acts with the NSCN along the Assam-Nagaland interstate boundary. The Dima Hasao SP also said efforts are on to contain such activities.

Dima Hasao SP sent out a clear message that such operations would continue until terror elements are eliminated.

The SP said that one DNLA cadre was arrested during the operations after the Mailoo Road incident.
