The Congress party is confident that it is going to steal the show in the upcoming Manipur Polls. With a pre-poll alliance formed with five left-wing parties to combat the might of the BJP, the Manipur unit of Congress is moving ahead to contest the two-phase state polls.

Talking on the pre-poll alliance with the five leftist parties, Manipur Congress in charge Bhakta Charan Das said that ideological compatibility is the main reason for the Congress and the left parties to come together. He also said that united they would be able to take on the BJP in a better way.

The five left-wing parties to have entered the alliance with the Congress are CPI, CPI-M, RSP, JD-S and the AIFB.

Das also said that the recent defections from the party do not affect Congress. The Manipur Congress in charge said here that the current Congress MLAs are united and are in good strength to come out with good results in the state polls.

Meanwhile, Das also said while the party will be conducting largely virtual meetings during the campaigns, party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would also be visiting the state.
