11 armed miscreants arrested in Manipur with huge cache of arms and ammo

The Manipur Police along with a team of Assam Rifles also conducted search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of the state.

The Manipur Police arrested as many as 11 miscreants dressed in police fatigues and also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from their possession.

A column of the Mahar Regiment yesterday conducted a search operation during which the 11 men were arrested and three AK rifles (7 magazines and 210 ammunitions), five INSAS (13 magazines and 260 ammunitions), two SLR (9 magazines and 180 ammunitions, and two hand grenades and bulletproof jackets were recovered from them.

The Manipur Police along with a team of Assam Rifles also conducted search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of the state.

During the operation, the joint team recovered one CMG (Carbine) with Mag, four single barrel guns, one grenade launcher (lathode gun), one pistol with mag, two improvised heavy mortars, two magazines, 10 tear gas shells from Zalenkot from Churachandpur.

The team recovered two 9mm pistol, five 9 mm pistol magazines and 500 ammunition from Mantripukhri Bazar, Imphal East district.

Earlier on April 29, the Manipur Police have arrested four persons and recovered arms, ammunition and explosives substance (Gun powder) from their possession in Imphal West and the general area of Twichamphai and Motbung Village, Kangpokpi district.
