A tough Lok Sabha battle awaits Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju who is slated to contest from Arunachal West.

While congress has fielded former chief minister Nabam Tuki for the seat, the JD-S has given former All India Mahila Congress general secretary Jarjum Ete the poll ticket in the constituency.

Jarjum Ete had resigned from the Congress after denial of party ticket to contest in the Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Jarjum Ete said that her sole agenda to contest in the upcoming parliamentary election is to work for the review and amendment of the Arunachal Statehood Act under article 371 H. She pointed out that the next 5 years will be very important for the state.
