The school has allegedly claimed to have 52 students enrolled, when, in reality, there hasn’t been a single student attending.
In a shocking revelation, the Nimuwa Primary School in Assam’s Baksa district has been accused of scamming authorities by falsely reporting the presence of students. For the past four years, the school has allegedly claimed to have 52 students enrolled, when, in reality, there hasn’t been a single student attending.
The principal, identified as Mafida Khatun, is accused of submitting fake names of students to government authorities to avail of various benefits meant for education. The fraudulent activity came to light after local residents raised concerns and demanded immediate action.
Outraged locals have called on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the education department to intervene and thoroughly investigate the matter. They have urged strict measures against the accused to ensure that such misuse of public funds does not occur in the future.
The alleged scam has sparked widespread criticism, with demands for transparency and accountability in the state’s education system. This incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of monitoring mechanisms in government schools and highlighted the need for stricter checks to prevent similar fraudulent activities.
Further updates on the investigation are awaited.
