Regularisation of 147 Posts: Minister Along Assures Revocation of Order, NNQF, CTAN Calls Off Agitation

After days of agitation, the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF), and Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN), opposing the regularisation of 147 Contractual Assistant Professors and librarians, have called off their agitation today after Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along assured them that the Nagaland government’s earlier decision regarding regularisation of the 147 posts will be revoked. The matter will be taken up at the Cabinet meeting next week.

Minister Temjen Imna Along had a closed door meeting with the representatives of NNQF and CTAN today evening. The meeting lasted for almost two and half hours at his office in the Secretariat in Kohima.

“We have had a very positive deliberation. The department and the government, we have heard their grievances and how best way that we can mitigate the problems we have discussed in length. I on behalf of the department and the government is thankful for their understanding and I think we will have a very positive outcome of what today we have discussed. We will mitigate their grievances and work together. Look forward to working with all of them in a positive manner without any problems in the days to come,” Minister Along told Northeast Live.

CTAN Convenor Meshenlo Kath informed that they have decided to call off their agitation after being assured by the Minister to revoke the order.
