ECI delegation on a 3-day visit to Sikkim

An ECI delegation is on a 3-day visit to Sikkim to review the poll preparedness. The ECI delegation is led by senior deputy Election Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma.

Soon after arrival, the ECI delegation had detailed discussions with District Election Officers and SPs, besides state level civil and police officers.

During the deliberations, the ECI team has instructed the concerned stakeholders to make elaborate arrangements for ensuring a free and fair election.

The ECI delegation has conveyed that there is no room for violence, while highlighting the fact that it has received multiple complaints from different political parties regarding incidents of violence related to the ensuing election.
