A man, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, created a ruckus as he tried to commit suicide near the Kamakhya station by climbing atop a water tank

It was just like the scene straight out of the popular Hindi flick Sholay where drunk Dharmendra climbs up a water tank and threatens to jump down and kill himself if Basanti (played by Hema Malini) did not agree to his love proposal.
A man, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, created a ruckus near the Kamakhya station by climbing up a water tank and trying to jump down in a bid to commit suicide. The man fought with the police for about 5 hours and threw stones at the people gathered near the water tank.
Despite the efforts of the police and the local people, the man refused to come down. But after over 2 hours the police managed to bring him down with the help of an excavator.
The locals said that the man had climbed up the water tank around 6 am morning and since then he was up there.
