It seems that the much talked about Congress-AIUDF alliance in Assam is still facing uncertainty. Even after jointly campaigning in the recent BTR council elections, the Congress is still unsure about continuing with the alliance.
Former Silchar MP and President of the All India Mahila Congress, Sushmita Dev has said that the Congress party will take a final call on the matter after conducting a survey throughout the state.
Dev said that the party will take a call on the alliance after the survey is conducted in January.
“Last time, when Jitendra Singh came to Barak Valley, he was clear that the party hasn’t taken any decision regarding the alliance. But if any such decision is taken we will inform you. I don’t think any discussion took place at the Delhi level. It is wrong to predict that the alliance will be good or bad. AICC is in the process of doing a survey (public opinion) and the result will come in January, after that the party will take a decision,” said Sushmita Dev President of the All India Mahila Congress.
