Conf to promote Bodo language and lit held in New Delhi

Scholars and readers of Bodo language, along with members of several organisations including All Bodo Students’ Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha held hectic deleberations in this regard.
Taking to X (Formerly known as Twitter), Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council, Pramod Boro said, “Glad to attend the National-Level Discussion on “Promotion of Bodo Language & Literature in National & International Arena” at the Bodo Study Centre, Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, New Delhi, today. Organised by All Bodo Students’ Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha & Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, the discussion focused on the imperative need to preserve & promote the linguistic traditions & literary treasure house that have been bequeathed to us as part of our rich heritage.”
The Bodo language is one of the recognized languages among the 22 languages of India under Schedule VIII of the Indian Constitution.
Bodo medium was introduced in Assam in 1963 in lower primary schools and now Class X, Class XI and Class XII will start from this year.
Bodo subject has already been introduced in various degree colleges of Assam and Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) as MIL Elective and Major at the undergraduate level. Simultaneously, Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Cotton University, Bodoland University and Assam University are offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in colleges and have separate departments in the respective universities.
