Proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh. Two cricketers from the state– Rahul Dalal and Nabam Yapu were honoured at the BCCI Awards 2024 for their outstanding performances in the field of cricket.

The BCCI annual Awards 2024 ceremony was held on Tuesday in Hyderabad.

Rahul Dalal was conferred the Madhav Rao Scindia Award, while woman cricketer Nabam Yapu was given the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy Best Women Cricketer (Senior Domestic) for 2022-23.

Rahul Dalal was conferred the Madhav Rao Scindia Award for being the Highest Wicket-Taker in the Ranji Trophy for the 2019-20 season.

Who is Rahul Dalal?
Rahul Dalal, who was born on February 2, 1992, made his debut for the Haryana U15 team in 2006. After that, in 2010–11, he was picked for the U19 squad, and in 4 matches, he scored almost 430 runs and 2 centuries.

During the 2012–13 season, he played in U22 level, where he scored 200 and 370 runs in 3 matches to earn his first call-up to the Ranji team.

He debuted in first-class cricket in late 2012, against Odisha.

Originally from Faridabad, Haryana, wicketkeeper-batsman Dalal relocated to Arunachal Pradesh in order to keep his cricketing career alive.

Dalal was the leading run-scorer in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy, with 1,340 runs in 9 matches and the only batsman to score more than 1,000 runs in the tournament.

Who is Nabam Yapu?

Nabam Yapu, a right-hand batter is the captain of Arunachal Pradesh’s senior women’s team.
