First Published: 22nd August, 2023 21:54 IST

The organization aims to provide a platform for local fighters and promote MMA in the region

ATURTO, a newly established Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization in Arunachal Pradesh, is all set to host its second edition in Ziro Valley on August 26.

Following the success of its first event in Itanagar, the organization aims to provide a platform for local fighters and promote MMA in the region.

Founded by Higio Tarak, ATURTO is the first and only MMA event in the area and is officially sanctioned by GAMMAI (Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts of India).

“Its main focus is on promoting local talent and providing a platform for upcoming fighters from the state,” Higio emphasized.

Recognizing the growing popularity of MMA in India, Tarak believes that Arunachal Pradesh holds significant potential for growth in the sport. The inaugural ATURTO event drew around 2000 spectators and featured 26 fighters from across the country. For the upcoming event in Ziro, the ATURTO team expects an audience of approximately 3000.
