Former MoS Railways and BJP leader Rajen Gohain cast his vote in the early hours at a polling booth in Nagaon.

“BJP will get over 35 seats out of the total 47 in the 1st phase. In the 2nd phase too, we’ll get many seats. BJP will undoubtedly form the govt with more than 75 seats,” Gohain said.

Voters are being screened with temperature guns, provided with hand sanitizer and hand gloves as they arrive at the poll booths to exercise their franchise.

Over 73 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise at 10,592 polling stations set up across 13 districts.

A total of 345 candidates including 26 women are in the fray for 39 seats.
