In the 2018 Assembly elections, Tuli constituency was won by Former NDPP leader Amenba Yaden
Tuli Assembly constituency is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Nagaland. Tuli is a Town and Subdivision in Mokokchung district and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. There are a total of 11 villages in this Subdivision. The estimated population of Tuli in 2023 is 30,858.
Tuli seat is now vacant after NDPP sitting MLA Amenba Yaden resigned from the party earlier this month.
After losing the race for the NDPP ticket in the 21 Tuli seat, Yaden resigned from the party and decided to contest from the same seat on Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ticket against BJP candidate A. Pangjung Jamir.
Amenba Yaden the three-time MLA has been occupied the Tuli seat since 2013 Assembly elections. He won the seat in 2013 as an Independent MLA by defeating then incumbent MLA of former NPF and now JD(U) leader L.temjen Jamir. Later he joined NPF and in 2018, he won the seat for NPF by defeating Jamir once again.
