Nagaland: KT Sukhalu backs ENPO’s demand; calls upon elected members of Eastern Nagaland to ensure development

SD: Sukhalu paricipating in the general discussion of the Budget, called for everyone's support to the ENPO's demand. Besides, he also suggested that the NLTP Act, 1989 must be lifted.

Nagaland Advisor of School Education KT.Sukhalu today said that there is a need to address the demand of the Eastern Naga People’s Organisation (ENPO).

Expressing his thoughts on the issue Sukhalu said that, everyone needs to render all possible support for making it a reality. He said this while participating in the general discussion of the Budget for the year 2023-24.

While batting for extensive development, Sukhalu called upon the elected members representing the Eastern Region and the ENPO leaders, to ensure that the projects undertaken in their areas are properly implemented, so that the benefits of development reach the people.

Stating this, Sukhalu also called upon the elected members representing the Eastern Region and the ENPO leaders taking responsibilities to ensure that the projects undertaken in their areas both by the Ministry and the state are properly implemented, so that the benefits of development goes to the people.

Meanwhile, on the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989, Sukhalu maintained that despite all the efforts given by the Excise department, prohibition is a total failure in the state. The Advisor therefore suggested that the Act should be lifted and the revenue collected could be used for school education and health sector.
