Mizoram: BJP Welcomes Governor’s Rule in Chakma Autonomous District Council

BJP MLA BD Chakma said that the Governor had taken the right step to bring an end to the political instability during the 10th CADC rule.

The Mizoram BJP has welcomed the decision of imposing Governor’s Rule in the Chakma Autonomous District Council. BJP workers congregated at Kamala Nagar in presence of lone BJP MLA BD Chakma besides a host of other leaders and expressed gratitude to Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati for his decision.

BJP MLA BD Chakma said that the Governor had taken the right step to bring an end to the political instability during the 10th CADC rule.

It may be mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner of Lawngtlai District is the Caretaker of CADC and BJP hopes that the nodal officer will definitely look into whatever irregularities were committed by the successive Executive Committees of CADC. The Mizoram BJP leadership is also looking forward for some corrective measures for the welfare of the council.

Mizoram governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Friday assumed all the powers and functions of the council and appointed Amol Srivastava, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lawngtlai district as the caretaker of CADC.

Governor’s rule has been imposed after chief executive member (CEM) Buddha Lila Chakma resigned on November 11 and the resignation was accepted by the Governor on November 17.
