Manipur Governor announces Rs one lakh financial support for Arjuna Award winner Naorem Roshibina Devi

The Arjuna Award winner also called on Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh at his residence on Friday.
Arjuna award winning Wushu fighter Naorem Roshibina Devi visited Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, accompanied by her coach and parents at the Raj Bhavan on Friday where the Governor announced a Rs one lakh financial support for the sports star.
Taking to the social media platform Facebook, the Governor today announced, “Arjuna Awardee Naorem Roshibina Devi (Wushu), accompanied by her coach and parent, met the Governor Miss Anusuiya Uikey Governor Manipur at Raj Bhavan. The Governor congratulated Roshibina on her achievements, wished her success in her future career, and thanked her coach and parents for their support. A financial support of Rs.1,00,000 was announced by the Governor for Roshibina Devi.”
The Arjuna Award winner also called on Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh at his residence on Friday.
The Chief Minister took to his official X handle to convey the information and wish the Wushu star best wishes for a successful future.
“Arjuna Awardee, 2023, Ms Naorem Roshibina Devi called on me at my residential office yesterday. She has lifted our spirits and filled our hearts with immense pride. Hoping that she continues to climb greater heights by bringing further laurels for the nation and the state. Wishing her all the best for a bright future ahead,” Singh wrote.
Naorem Roshibina Devi won the Arjuna award, along with fellow Manipuri Hockey star Pukhrambam Sushila Chanu were conferred the Arjuna award on January 9 for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields. Roshibina had won a silver medal in the Wushu women’s 60 kg category at the Asian Games 2022 held in September 2023. She had also won a bronze medal in the 2018 edition of the Asian Games held in Jakarta. She had won gold at the 2019 South Asian Games in Nepal.
