For assessing the law and order situation of the state a special meeting of the Manipur Cabinet is underway.
Several concrete decisons will be taken in today’s cabinet meeting, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, while addressing the media after taking part in the 52nd Statehood Day celebration today.
Further, he added that the security and protection of people of the state is his top priority.
“No it is a speculation, we are not taking any decision now, the meeting will continue and from 12:30 PM we will sit together and then we will take concrete decisions, we have to protect the people, we have to protect the state, we cannot compromise. To whom will you hand over the administration? What you think of it? Because people have suffered. In this particular matter we should not play politics and we should not listen to the vested interests’ people’s voice. We should it positively for future generation. We are serious,” N Biren Singh said.
The Manipur Chief Minister also shared his thoughts on the occasion of Manipur’s 52nd Statehood Day.
CM N Biren Singh said, “Statehood Day of Manipur. In 1972 we were given statehood, but I am not fully satisfied because of the some elements trying to divide the state, through some provision, but anyway we are now enjoying being a state. Today I want to convey the people of Manipur and particularly to the security forces, the central forces, whatever is happening today in Manipur is very unfortunate. And our primary duty of being a security force is to prevent and protect the life and property of the people of the state and to protect the state integrity, as well as the national integrity. So all the security forces, my humble appeal to all of them to cocentrate seriously on this particular issue to prevent and protect the lives, properties of the inncoent people and to keep intact the nation’s territorial integrity and the state territorial integrity.”
