Guwahati man found dead in a tourist vehicle in Meghalaya

Police have identified the deceased as Amol Sen, son of Mitun Sen, a resident of Jayanagar under Beltola Police Station in Guwahati
The body of a man from Guwahati has been recovered from a tourist vehicle in Meghalaya.
A team of Ri Bhoi Police recovered the body from the vehicle parked on the roadside at 9th Mile Baridua opposite the CRPF camp gate.
Police have identified the deceased as Amol Sen, son of Mitun Sen, a resident of Jayanagar under Beltola Police Station in Guwahati.
The cause of the death has not been ascertained yet. The body was then sent to Civil Hospital, Nongpoh, for post-mortem examination.
Police launched an investigation into the incident and are trying to piece together the details that led to his death.
It may be mentioned here that there are reports of the Hynniewtrep A’chik National Movement (HANM) threatening tourists in Shillong.
Three members of HANM have also been arrested for allegedly threatening tourists with dire consequences who were staying at a guest house in Shillong.
On April 6, Police has registered a case at Rynjah police station under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in this regard and also has warned anyone against taking the law into their hands by disrupting the visit of tourists to the state.
