37th National Games: Nagaland’s Liike Kibami wins silver in Tanding category in Pencak Silat

Liike Kibami from Nagaland has secured her second medal today at the 37th National Games being held in Goa clinching a silver medal.

She won the silver medal in the women’s tanding 50-60 kilograms competition in Tanding category in Pencak Silat.

Congratulating Kibamai on her achievemnet, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to X and wrote, “Second Medal for Nagaland. Congratulations to Nagaland’s Ms. Liike Kibami for winning her second medal at the National Games in Goa. She wins Silver Medal in Tanding category in Pencak Silat.”

Nagaland Olympic Association also acknowledged Kibami’s remarkable achievement and congratulated her.

“Nagaland’s Star Shines Again! Ms. Liike Kibami, our remarkable athlete, has triumphed once more at the National Games in Goa. This time, it’s a Silver Medal in the electrifying Tanding Pencak Silat category. Acknowledging this remarkable achievement with the utmost professionalism and pride,” Nagaland Olympic Association wrote on X.

Yaikhom Anjali Devi of Manipur won the gold in the women’s 50–60 kg tanding competition in Pencak Silat, while Assam’s Prerna Hazarika and Anslet Sabastian won the bronze.

Yesterday, Nagaland won its first medal at the ongoing 37th National Games in the Pencak Silat discipline making the entire state proud.

Liike Kibami, Hinokali and Avikali V. Sheqi proved their mettle by exhibiting extraordinary skills and temparament.

Athletes from 28 states, eight Union Territories and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) are in action at the 37th National Games, which will conclude on November 9, 2023.
