37th National Games: Nagaland Pencak Silat team wins Bronze

The Bronze won by the Pencak Silat team is the first medal for Nagaland at the ongoing National Games.

Nagaland won its first medal at the ongoing 37th National Games in the Pencak Silat discipline making the entire state proud. Liike Kibami, Hinokali and Avikali V. Sheqi proved their mettle by exhibiting extraordinary skills and temparament. Although it was Bronze for the Nagaland girls, hopes are high that things will get better with time.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio congratulated the athletes on their success through a post on X.

Chief Minister in his congratulatory message said, “Nagaland wins first medal at the 37th National Games, Goa. Congratulations to Nagaland women’s Pencak Silat team for winning Bronze Medal in the Women’s Regu category. Ms. Liike Kibami, Ms. Hinokali & Ms. Avikali V. Sheqi represented the State very well. I wish them more success.”

Abu Metha, who is the Adviser to the Nagaland Chief Minister, also lauded the achievement of Likke, Hinokali and Avikali.

Well Done to Team Manager Mr. Kashito Kiba and Team Coach Mr. Deep Kumar for your able leadership and mature guidance.”

Nagaland Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak has also extended her greetings to the three athletes. In a post on social media, Konyak said, “Congratulations, Nagaland!”
