Nagaland Cabinet To Get In Touch With NSCN-IM Ahead Of Meeting With Amit Shah on Nov 18

Nagaland cabinet has also decided to appeal for early facilitation of the formation of Frontier Nagaland Territory Authority.
The Nagaland cabinet at its meeting held in Chumukedima today decided to get in touch with the NSCN-IM leadership before Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with deputy CMs Y Patton and TR Zeliang meets Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi next week.
Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang while speaking to Northeast Live after the meeting said, “We have not made any final decision yet. However, we deliberated on the recent statement by the NSCN-IM secretary. The cabinet has agreed to meet the NSCN-IM leaders before our meeting with the Union Home Minister.”
He further noted, “The exact date for the meeting between NSCN-IM and Amit Shah has not been confirmed yet. However, the Home Minister is likely to meet us on the evening of November 19 or on November 20. We plan to leave for Delhi on November 18. During the meeting with the Home Minister, we will stress the need to elevate the Naga peace talks to a political level, rather than limiting it to bureaucratic level. We will also engage with the interlocutor.”
CM Rio and the 2 Deputy Chief Ministers will also meet AK Mishra.
As per sources, the Nagaland cabinet has also decided to appeal for early facilitation of the formation of Frontier Nagaland Territory Authority.
