At a time when Assam is witnessing stiff opposition against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, state Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s latest revelation has created sensation.

Sarma who is also the Northeast Democratic Alliance Convenor has said that unscrupulous elements influenced by Left parties are trying to create unrest in the state.

The minister also said that illegal migrants now rule 12 districts in Assam. The minister also questioned organisations over their stoic silence over rampant encroachment in Satra lands.

Sarma, meanwhile, added that the government will continue its efforts regarding the development scenario in the state.
