The demand for Frontier Nagaland is gaining fresh momentum in Nagaland.
The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has convened an emergency meeting of the central executive council at Mon town on November 16, 2022.
The CEC meeting is being convened in view of the urgent state of affairs and as resolved during the last ENPO-CEC meeting at Tuensang on October 14, 2022, to hold another emergency CEC meeting to take the Statehood Demand movement forward.
Notably, the upcoming meeting will be reaffirming the ENPO August 26 and October 14 resolutions, which include abstaining from participating in the State and Central elections, to demand the resignation of all the 20 MLAs in the event of no early response from the government of India and further, to abstain from participating in the upcoming State Hornbill Festival.

The ENPO has directed all ENPO Executives, CEC members of the respective 7 Tribal Bodies, ENLU members, among others to attend the meeting.
It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on November 5 convened a meeting with the Eastern Nagaland Legislators to discuss issues related to the participation of Cultural troupes of the seven tribes from the Eastern Nagaland.
Sources informed that the Government is appealing to the ENPO to withdraw its October 14 resolution and participate in the Hornbill Festival.
