Will the Centre pay heed to the creation of a Frontier Nagaland? The ENSF backed by the ENPO took to the streets in support of the demand. The frontal organisations

The clamour for Frontier Nagaland is getting louder with every passing day. People in large numbers took to the streets in support of the Frontier Nagaland statehood demand. The ENSF also made it clear that it backs the August 26 resolution adopted this year by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation to abstain from taking part in elections untuil the demand is fulfilled.

The walkathon was held in the 6 districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Noklak, Kiphire and Shamator which falls within the ambit of Eastern Nagaland.

People from all walks of life came together participating in the mass public walkathon movement.
The agitators also submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the respective deputy commissioners. In the memorandum, the ENSF along with the ENPO appealed Prime Minister Modi to immediately and proactively look into the ‘legitimate’ demand of the creation of a Frontier Nagaland.

In the memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister, it appealed to the Prime Minister to immediately and proactively look into the legitimate demand of the Eastern people for ‘Frontier Nagaland’, of people living in the Myanmar Border of India.

It has been alleged that the successive Nagaland state governments have neglected the eastern region for the past 59 years since the attainment of statehood in the year 1963. The memo also highlights that the Eastern region of Nagaland has been deprived from basic necessities of life such as education, health services and economy.
