Talks with India did not conclude on Oct 31, 2019: NSCN-IM

First Published: 20th July, 2022 12:08 IST

Officially the FA signed on August 3, 2015, had resolved the principle issues, but the core point is the non-action on competency, the NSCN-IM added.

The NSCN-IM has taken strong exception to the stand of the Parliamentary Committee on the Naga Political issue that the peace talks concluded on October 31, 2019.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the NSCN-IM stated that had the Indo-Naga political talks concluded on October 31, 2019, a Joint statement should have been the norm and not a unilateral statement by RN Ravi.

RN Ravi may have concluded the talks with NNPGs but not with the NSCN-IM.

Ravi used strong words against the NSCN-IM talk team to conclude the talks by October 31, 2019 in what was an ultimatum day served to the NSCN with threats and warfare psychosis, the statement added.

While lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for declaring that the longest insurgency movement in Southeast Asia was solved after the signing of the Framework Agreement, the NSCN-IM said non-action on competencies has dragged the issue for the last few years and it would be wrong and immature to say that the talks officially concluded on October 31, 2019.

Officially the FA signed on August 3, 2015, had resolved the principle issues, but the core point is the non-action on competency, the NSCN-IM added.
