Nagaland CM Meets Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwa, Appeals for Realese of Funds for Completion of High Court

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwa assured that a District court will be established in Tseminyu soon.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday said that he met with Union Minister of State for Law & Justice (IC) MoS Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwa to emphasize the urgency of releasing funds for the long-awaited New High Court Complex.

Rio expressed optimism for a positive response from the Ministry to enhance the state’s justice delivery system.

Taking to X, Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio wrote, “Met Shri @arjunrammeghwal Hon’ble Union MoS for @MLJ_GoI, @mpa_india. Reiterated the need for release of funds for completion of the long-pending New High Court Complex. Hopeful for a favourable response from the Ministry to have an efficient justice delivery system in the State.”

During the visit of Meghwal at the newly constructed Kohima High Court premises, he said, “Today, there was a very good meeting with the Chief Minister Neiphui Rio and we discussed all the pending issues, including the creation of a separate high court for Nagaland and inauguration of this building and financial assistance for completion of the building. We have discussed in detail and the meeting was very positive.”

He assured that in the winter session of Parliament, he will call a meeting and will resolve issues. He said, “We will call for a meeting and Secretary Justice and Secretary Expenditure finance department will join the meeting and we will resolve the issues definitely.”

When asked about new projects in Tseminyu district, Union Law Minister said, “Tseminyu is a very newly created district and I visited some sites and some projects under National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and some new banks under the financial inclusion.”

“Under NABARD IRDF scheme some roads can be sanctioned and some new banks any National Bank and some Regional Rural Bank (RRB) can be opened there. Whenever, the financial inclusion move people can be directly benefitted from the GoI funding and the State government funding also.”

He also assured that a District court will be established in Tseminyu soon.

On 22nd October 2024, Meghwal visited Tseminyu and held a meeting at DC’s conference hall, Tseminyu.
The Union Ministerin his interaction with various organisations, stated the need to have more banks and also encouraged the citizens to open bank accounts for transaction of centrally sponsored scheme.

He also stated that farmer can get an access and due share in regards to any farmers centrally sponsored scheme. He further agreed to take up to construction of district court at Tseminyu and also to sanction amount for construction of district hospital and Tseminyu Town roads. In the meeting, he asked the representative to send proposal for cultural complex.
