The Assam Rifles has said that the Mizoram Power department has cut off power supply to all its posts across Mizoram. The paramilitary Assam Rifles, in a statement, alleged that the power supply was cut off following an incident of October 17 when, according to power minister F Ro-dingliana’s office, his ministerial convoy was stopped by Assam Rifles men at a check post near Zokhawsang.
The Assam Rifles has charged the Minister’s aides of falsely accusing them of stopping the convoy. The snapping of the power supply has put the operations of the force in jeopardy leading to security issues.
Some videos made available to media shows the minister’s aides engaging in an argument with the Assam Rifles men on duty.
The minister or his team could not be immediately reached for comments.
