As time is running out for the 15 trapped miners in the tragedy hit coal mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills, a team of National Disaster Management Authority is on its way to the incident site to join the rescue operations.

Indian Air Force’s C-130 aircraft, carrying the NDMA team, with equipment landed in Guwahati on Friday morning.

After reaching Guwahati, the NDMA team headed straight to the tragedy hit Coal Mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills.

The Indian Air Force has been roped into the operation for transportation of NDMA team and equipment, following a request by the Meghalaya Government

Meanwhile, handicapped with no proper equipment and high power pumps, the NDRF personnel continue their fruitless rescue operations in the Coal Mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills.
