Seven out of the eight Congress leaders and supporters who were arrested from the Congress Bhavan in Agartala for allegedly throwing a petrol bomb on a BJP protest rally were released on bail yesterday.

The Congress leaders and workers allegedly threw petrol bomb on a BJP protest rally on February 26.

The Congress leaders who were released on bail included state Congress president Birajit Sinha, Former Minister Sudip Roy Barman and party leader Gopal Chandra Roy, who were released yesterday from the Bishalgarh jail.

Later speaking to the media, the Congress leaders stated that the BJP government is misusing its powers and also said that BJP workers have been not arrested in spite of them allegedly indulging in attacks against Congress workers.
