Tragic Road Accident in Gangtok Claims One Life and Injures Five Others

The deceased has been identified as Purna Kumar Chhetri, a member of the Sikkim Scouts, who was seated on the driver’s side.

A tragic road accident occurred in Tadong, Gangtok, on the morning of December 29, claiming the life of one person and leaving five others injured.

The incident happened around 4:30 am when a Mahindra Bolero, traveling from Ranipool to Gangtok, reportedly lost control and crashed into a parked truck on the roadside.

The deceased has been identified as Purna Kumar Chhetri, a member of the Sikkim Scouts, who was seated on the driver’s side. He succumbed to his injuries at the spot immediately.

The five injured individuals, which include four men and one woman, were admitted to the Central Referral Hospital in Manipal for treatment. One of the injured is reported to be in critical condition.
