Meghalaya: TMC’s Marak launches scathing attack on NPP’s Marcuise Marak

First Published: 1st February, 2023 15:47 IST

NPP MLA Marcuise Marak is making a mockery of himself by saying that there was no crowd gathered during the party office's inauguration in Williamnagar, said TMC candidate Alphonsush R.

Alphonsush R. Marak, a Meghalaya TMC candidate from the Williamnagar Assembly constituency in East Garo Hills launched a scathing attack on National People’s Party (NPP) MLA from the same constituency Marcuise N Marak over his remarks on the “crowd strength” during the party office’s inauguration in Williamnagar earlier this week.

Coming down heavily on Marcuise Marak, Alphonsush R. Marak said, “NPP MLA Marcuise Marak is making a mockery of himself by saying that there was no crowd gathered when Dr. Mukul Sangma came to inaugurate the party office in Williamnagar. We all witnessed that thousands of people came to take part in the event.”

He further stated that he would like to tell Marcuise that instead of focusing on what his opponent is doing, he should commit to and reassure the voters of his district about his plans and actions.

The TMC leader also mentioned that the NPP MLA is rattled by losing the support of the people.

He said, “Knowing that he is losing the confidence of the people, he has chosen to stoop too low to point out the crowd’s strength, without an iota of evidence.”

The Meghalaya TMC candidate highlighted the party’s vision while promising to usher in a new dawn in Williamnagar.

He said, “I am a part of Meghalaya TMC, knowing and understanding the vision of the party for the people. I work for the welfare and holistic development of my constituency.”

Meghalaya will go to polls on February 27, 2023. Counting of votes will be done on March 2.
