Rhino Prerna Sthal Reopens in Shillong to Honour 1971 War Heroes

The renovated Rhino Prerna Sthal & Prerna Park in Shillong was dedicated to the heroes of the 1971 Indo-Pak War in a solemn ceremony led by Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding 101 Area. The event, attended by military dignitaries and war veterans, paid tribute to the brave soldiers who fought for the liberation of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

The war memorial stands as a powerful symbol of sacrifice, valour, and patriotism, capturing the essence of dedication and selflessness displayed by the armed forces. The nation remains united in remembering those who laid down their lives during the war, ensuring their legacy endures for future generations.

The ceremony featured the laying of wreaths, followed by an impressive light and sound show that showcased the pivotal operations of 101 Area during the 1971 war.
