Rakul Preet-Jackky Bhagnani keen to sign Assamese films

Bollywood couple Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani have evinced interest in signing Assamese films. While Rakul Preet has shown interest in acting in Assamese films, hubby Jackky has said that he is available to produce Assamese films and collaborate with the Assamese film industry.

The Bollywood couple who are in Guwahati, were the guest speakers at the interactive session with the film fraternity of Assam at an event organised by the Assam State Film Finance and Development Corporation (ASFFDC) at Aideo Cinema Hall in Guwahati today.

Speaking during the interactive session, actor Rakul Preet Singh and her producer husband Jackky Bhagnani have spoke about how Assamese films at watched pan India and it’s time to produce more Assamese film for the global audience.

They expressed their desire to tell the untold, unseen stories from the region to the world and to work on promoting Assamese film industry.

Rakul and Jackky also lauded Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s efforts in the field of media and entertainment to bring the state and Assamese film to a pan India level.

When asked if she would be interested in doing a cameo role in a Assamese film, Rakul said, “Why should I look for a cameo? We can look for a script in which the character will be based in Assam and we can make it a pan India film.”

Rackul also spoke about her love for Assam and Jackky’s Assam connection. His mother is from Jorhat.

Earlier in the morning they visited Kamakhya temple atop the Nilachal Hill and paid their obeisance to Goddess Kamakhya.

Yesterday night, they visited popular singer of Assam who is also the chairman of ASFFDC, Simanta Shekhar’s residence and relished some traditional Assamese food.
