Priyanka Gandhi begins two-day visit to poll-bound Assam, offers prayers at Kamakhya temple

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is on a 2-day visit to poll-bound Assam, arrived in Guwahati on Monday morning.

The AICC general secretary, accompanied by the party’s Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh, was received at the Lokpriyo Gopinath Bordoloi Airport by state unit chief Ripun Bora and other party leaders.

After her arrival at the airport, the Congress leader paid a visit to the Kamakhya Temple to seek blessings from Maa Kamakhya before proceeding to Lakhimpur in upper Assam for her other engagements.

The AICC general secretary will campaign for the party ahead of the Assam Assembly election.

Priyanka is set to visit four legislative assemblies – Lakhimpur and Bihpuria in Lakhimpur district, Gohpur, Biswanath district headquarters and Tezpur district headquarters.

During her visit, she will attend party meetings, lead a protest rally and hold several public rallies.
