Private schools in Assam may increase their fees by 8% to 9% in the coming days. According to inputs, some schools have already sent their applications to the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) proposing their revised hiked fee structure.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, a staff of a private school in Guwahati said that every aspect of daily life has been hit by inflation. With costs increasing, if inflation continues then they will raise fees by 8% to 9%.

He said, “Recently the Assam government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) for all state government employees by 4%. We have to increase the salaries of our employees in the private sector. And if we do, eventually we will have to raise the fees. “
