President and Police medals to three Nagaland cops for distinguished service

47 fire service personnel were awarded Fire Service Medals for their service in saving lives
DIG Mokokchung, Etssimongo Ngullie has been honoured with President’s medal for his distinguished service on the occasion of the Republic Day today.
Abel Jonsuo Humtsoe, UB Inspector, INT Headquarter, Kohima and Israel G Xuivi, Deputy Commandant, 6th NAP Bn. Tizit, were awarded the Police Medal for their meritorious service.
Zhasalie Napranotsu, Deputy SP of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) has been awarded Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.
These meritorious personnel are among the 901 police personnel who have been awarded the Police Medals by the Union Home Ministry.
140 Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) have been given to the security and police personnel. A PMG is given for bravery in stopping a crime from happening or apprehending criminals, or in saving life and property.
A total of 80 personnel received bravery awards for operations in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) or Naxal violence-affected areas, while 45 personnel stationed in the Jammu and Kashmir region received accolades for their gallant actions.
47 personnel were awarded fire service medals.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) received the highest number of PMGs-48, the Home Ministry statement said.
Moreover, 55 personnel were also given the President’s Home Guard and Civil Defence Medals for their exceptional and deserving services.
