Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday flagged off 5 mobile digital movie theatre vans in presence of Information and Public Relations minister, Bamang Felix and other dignitaries at the DK Convention Centre in Itanagar.
The mobile theatre initiative is taken by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Taking to Twitter after the flagging off ceremony, CM Pema Khandu said people from rural areas can now experience the taste of world class movie theatres.
The Chief Minister further added that besides providing entertainment, the mobile theatre vans will also be used for educational purposes.
“With mobile digital movie theatre, people from rural areas and small town can experience the taste of world class movie theatres. Flagged off today 5 mobile theatre vans, run by Picture Times. Besides providing entertainment, it can also be used for educational purposes,” Khandu tweeted.

According to a DIPR official, the mobile digital movie theatre vans will be stationed at East Siang, Kurung Kumey, Lower Subansiri, Namsai and Tawang districts.
The inclusion of mobile theatres will facilitate effective and faster dissemination of information on policies and programmes of the government among the public, said the official.
