The Naga Students’ Federation has taken strong exception to the statements made by Nagaland BJP president and minister Temjen Imna Along in the assembly where he stated that the demand for a separate flag and constitution is near impossible to realise. Temjen Imna Along, while addressing the Nagaland Assembly on Tuesday, had stated it was a known fact that the demand for flag and constitution is not achievable.
Speaking to exclusively Northeast Live, NSF President K Tep said that Along, by means of being an influential Naga leader, should stand for the rights and aspirations of the Nagas. The NSF president further stated that the BJP leader’s statement undermines the founding principles of the Naga National Workers as well as the people of Nagaland at large.
The NSF, also said that the state BJP chief should respect the sentiments of the Nagas and refrain from making such statements in future.
