Intelligence agencies have alerted security forces on counter insurgency missions in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap, Changlang, Longding, and Namsai districts as well as eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Charaideo districts about the presence of cadres from a variety of militant groups, especially ULFA-I and the K-YA faction of the NSCN, who are desperate to get arms, ammunition, and dry ration for their cadres stationed in Myanmar.

Meanwhile, a hardcore cadre of the banned militant outfit – National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-KYA) and two Over Ground Workers (OGW) have been arrested in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district in an intelligence-led counter-insurgency operation by the Assam Rifles.
The arrested cadre has been identified as self-styled 2nd lieutenant Jawela Kuchung and the over ground workers are–Tacho Lindom and Apam Wangpan.
The team of Assam Rifles have also recovered 5.6 lakhs cash and two mobile phones from their possession. The Assam Rifles unit based in Jairampur in Changlang district carried out an operation in the area today.
During interrogation, the arrested cadres disclosed that their senior leaders had instructed them to go with the money in order to purchase arms, ammunition, and dry ration for their camps in Myanmar.
The arrested persons have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
