Arunachal’s Toko Takum wins gold, Likha Deechum wins gold and silver at the National Badminton Championship

Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy CM Chowna Mein congratulated the players on their achievement

In a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, two badminton players from the state Toko Takum and Likha Deechum won 2 gold medals and a silver medal at the National Badminton Championship 2024, held in Haryana.

Takum won gold in the U-30 men’s category, while Likha Deechum clinched gold and silver in the U-14 and U-17 girls’ categories respectively.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu extended his heartfelt congratulations to both the players. Taking to X, Khandu wrote, “Congratulations to Likha Deechum for securing gold & silver at the national badminton tournament in Haryana! Her achievement reflects pure talent & relentless dedication, igniting inspiration across the nation. Here’s to her ongoing success & countless triumphs ahead!”

“Big congratulations to Toko Takum for seizing the Gold in the Under-30 men’s category at the National Badminton Championship in Haryana! Here’s to a bright future filled with even more stellar accomplishments in your inspiring sporting journey.” Khandu added.


State’s Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein also congratulated them on their remarkable achievement and said, “Congratulations to Toko Takum and Likha Deechum on their extraordinary achievements in the field of badminton at the National Badminton Championship held in Haryana.”

“Takum securing Gold in the U-30 men’s category and Deechum clinching both Gold and Silver in the U-14 and U-17 girls’ categories are testaments to their skill, determination, and incredible talent. Wishing them continued success and many more victories in their future endeavors.” Chowna Mein added.
